A lot of my friends ask where they can buy a Shellac Nail Kit. This is a pretty usual question because unless you go online, the only other place to buy Shellac is at a professional nail technician store, and you need a membership.
I want to clear up a misconception about Shellac. Sometimes customers ask me "what is the best shellac brand?". Well, the answer to that is simple; the best shellac nail polish brand is CND. My guess is that because Shellac and Gel are similar, people began using Shellac as a term to identify some Gel Polishes. Similarly to Kleenex and napkins.
I will do a little review about a CND Shellac nail kit and 2 alternatives that are gel nail polishes.
Please do not buy the products from random online stores unless it is from a trusted reseller or the company of the brand itself. Take a look at the trusted nail kits below.
Best Shellac Nail Kit (Different Brands Too)
Shellac Nail Kit
Beginner Friendly
2 Week Wear Test
- 4 Power Polish Coats
- Extra Nail Products
- 1 Base Coat
- 1 Top Coat
My Opinion
CND, love their products, however, this kit is more for advanced nail technicians.
Sally Hansen Kit
Beginner Friendly
2 Week Wear Test
- LED Light
- 3 Gel Polish Shades
- 1 Base Coat
- 1 Top Coat
My Opinion
Sally Hansen products are always quality, everything in this beginner kit is spot on.
Some of these products on amazon do not ship to certain countries, therefore, you may need to go through a middle man such as the one for Gelish. If the number of reviews for the products is low in the amazon specific to your country, look at the US Amazon website, and you will see whether or not the product is good.
I chose these 3 different brands of shellac nail polish, or similar to shellac because they are professional brands and are used everywhere you go. Personally, I love CND, and I get my products at a local beauty store. The other two; Sally Hansen, and Gelish, are more readily available online.
So there you have it, buy your shellac nail kit online if you are not a member of a professional cosmetics store.
Just to let you know, buying your own gel polish nail kit is a great way to familiarize yourself with legitimate products. Some nail salons have unmarked products and use low-quality products. Read here for more nail salon tips!
Make Your Own Shellac Nail Polish Kit
Buying all your things separately allows you to choose different brands of shellac nail polish.

- UV Light
- Nail Polish Remover
- Base Coat
- CND Shellac Power Polish
- Top Coat
- Cuticle Stick
- Nail Buffer
- Alcohol Cleaning Pads
That's about all you need to make a complete shellac nail kit. If you want to go ahead and make a gel nail polish kit, just replace the power polish with a gel nail polish.
